The Gillies Highway and Kuranda Range Road are winding mountain passes that take 1-1.5 hours from Cairns with a loaded truck. We factor this into our quotes, but it's worth knowing that Atherton moves take longer due to travel time.
Prepare for cooler Tablelands temperatures.
Atherton sits at 750m elevation and can be 5-10°C cooler than Cairns — especially in winter mornings. If you're moving fragile electronics or instruments, the temperature difference is rarely an issue but worth noting.
Include farm and shed items in your inventory.
